These were typed up and ready to go...2 saturdays ago! Darn, here's for finishing it though!
Prayers. We've been teaching Michael to pray, before bed, before meals, whenever and one day this week we were eating pretzels and out of the blue he's looking at me, folding his arms and saying "Prayers, mama." ADORABLE. We say a prayer. We eat a pretzel. I assume we're done and again, he's looking at me. "Prayers, mama." I tell him he should say it and he looks at me with a sheepish grin and repeats my words. SO cute. Repeat about 10 more times between each pretzel. It was pretty hilarious. :) And I tried to just go with it, can't pray too much, right?
So Pretty. Josh and I were hugging in the kitchen, usually if Michael is in the room. He looks at us, runs over, holds his arms up, and says "Hug?" Then we scoop him up and have a "family hug" or partial "Family hug" right now ;) But this time, was across the room and he starts laughing and so "Oh, its so pretty, mommy, daddy!" Love that kid!
Bottle Baby Vibrating. The twins are getting more and more active and they are (finally) starting to LOVE to drink their bottles! They can finish 6 ounces in one sitting, which is a lot for where they were just a month or so ago. They've given some recognition to seeing their bottles but lately, Colton and Callan, seem to vibrate when they see us shaking up their bottles! Their eyes don't move from the bottle and their whole body shakes! It's adorable!
Where's Michael? There he is! Michael has been playing peek-a-boo...with himself! ADORABLE!
Mammy, no house? As Michael nears 2 (gulp!) his vocabulary has increased 1000 fold! I am seriously amazed at the things he says all of the time! We were driving home and passed my mother in laws house (they live .4 miles from us!) and Michael looks out the window, sees the house as we pass and screams "Mammy, no house?!" Meaning, Grammy's not home? I thought that was a pretty great sentence! And it was amazing to me that he knew, where her house was and that her car wasn't in front of it!
Counting Gas Prices. Michael loves to count. We'll be driving and he'll yell out the numbers(or letters) and we'll count back and forth for fun. He loves it and I am definitely not going to discourage it! On the way home from the gym last week, we stopped to get some gas. He sits in the back row of our van and I always start pumping the gas and then turn and we make silly faces or noises (yeah, I'm probably a site to see, talking to my very dark tinted window.) and as I was turned around to check out the damage (I swear prices go down, then back up higher than before!) I hear Michael yelling numbers and he's trying to keep up with the gas pumps price counting. It was hilarious so we started doing it together until we couldn't anymore. It's so funny to me, the things a toddler takes note of!
Opposite otters! Colton and Callan are similar in some ways. They are pretty happy smiley babies most of the time but so different in others! They challenge everything I thought I knew about babies because of Michael. There is no truer testament that all babies are different than having twins in your home! Colton is such a good sleeper! If he's asleep, he is asleep. Callan, on the other hand, likes to party. He will go to bed later and wake up earlier. He kills me. You'd think with less sleep he'd be grumpier (and sometimes he is) but whenever I go in to his room to get him, he has a huge smile on his face and is wiggling all over! Colton, the good sleeper, rarely even tells me he's awake. I'll go in there to check on him, an hour after Callan has gotten up, and he'll be hanging out, eyes wide open looking around. I always tell him to cry or something! Never thought i'd have to do that! ;)
Nuggle? Have you ever "nuggled?" I am sure you have. It's Michael's latest "favorite thing." When he doesn't want to go to bed but he's tired and knows that where he's headed, he grabs his elmo blanket and calls out to Josh or me "nuggle?" "Chair?" He makes sure to specify that he wants to sit in the living room chairs, because otherwise he thinks we'll take him to his room. I could get used to this "nuggling" thing :)
