The good and the bad about having a talker

I am loving the fact that Michael is such a talker.
He is learning new words and sentences every day and I hear him say things and think to myself "Where in the world did that come from?"
He just picks up so much from his surrounding, things even I don't hear or pay attention too.

The great thing about Michael becoming so vocal is that we can have conversations.  If something is bothering him, he can tell me. If he wants something, he can tell me.  If he sees something cool, he tells me! It's great!

The good and the bad of my toddler learning how to communicate better is that he is learning, like I said, from his surroundings. From me, my husband, our families, and church leaders new words but also how to use those new words.

I see so much in how he talks to the babies, the dog, his dad, and everything around him, exactly how I talk to the babies, the dog, his dad and him.

It can be a very reflective time watching your toddler walk up to his crying brother, rub his head and say "its ok, baby" or when he puts his hands in the air after you've asked him a question and says "What?!" with an "excuuuse me" inflection in his voice. Being a mother is humbling in many aspects but I think hearing my son talk to himself and others the way I would is the most humbling aspect so far.  He is kind most of the time, but it has made me more aware of how I speak when I'm frustrated and especially of how I speak to our dog. Poor Ruger. He's just such a big, awkward dog, that we are constantly telling him, "Move, Ruger" or "Go!" So Michael also speaks to him that way, we're hoping that its only to the dog :/

Anyway, I love being able to better communicate with Michael and to finally be able to realize all that is going on in his head! It is amazing how much he sees and notices that I don't even realize!

Some of our favorite recent quotes:
I luh you baby
Hey baby (to daddy)
Hey Dude (to daddy)
That's so pretty!
WoooW
Look a circle (triangle, square etc) that he finds in every day items (houses, his swingset!)
Aww brothers!
whats that? Brothers are crying?!
Good job, baby!
Here ya go, thank you, your welcome baby! (all one sentence as he gives you something you didn't know you needed!)
scuse me! (to random objects that he bumps into)
And the list could go on ;)

So grateful for this talking stage!
