So after my terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day I decided it was high time for me to take all precautions to make a situation like that a little more bearable.
I decided to make my own, very large, diaper bag!
So I can bring things like extra outfits, or blankets, or whatever the heck I want at the time!
My friend Liz posted a tutorial on how she made her adorable diaper bag and I was inspired!
I made mine just a little bit wider (9 inches)
put 4 bottle pockets outside (2 on each side) 1 each for the babies, Michael and I :)
1 large elastic pocket on each inside, side that I use for formula and medical stuff (nose sucker, sanitizer)
a key fob, cel phone pocket, and 1 large non elastic pocket for Michaels books
stroller straps and hooks
2 large elastic pockets that I use for my wallet and baby toys
3 small elastic pockets for binkies, headphones, and pens/crayons^
(2 on one side, 1 on the the other)
used upholstry braids for straps
(and made a cutie little rosette because one of the straps broke and I tried to hot glue it and needed a way to cover it. Ended up having to exchange it for a new one because it was just poorly made, but still get to keep the cute velcro on flower!)
and magnetic buttons for closure
(I added them after so you can see the holes. bad idea!)
This thing is HUGE.
I have enough room for a zipper bag of extra clothes, insulated container of snacks,
I also made a zipper bag for diapers and wipes
Joanns was having a great 60% off home decor fabric so I got a great deal on this beautiful print too! :)

I felt like this was way above my "skill level" but I did it and I am so proud of it!
That's seriously awesome! Next time around I'm going to hit you up for my own personalized diaper bag! You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! Just let me know ;)
ReplyDeleteMy son likes to sleep on his tummy, for what i can tell, he couldn have wet his clothes wet 3 times each nite using diapers. But with honest diapers, even though it's not 100% guarantee there's no accident, it only happens when he drinks super-lot during the nite. For my 19-m-old boy, Honest works 3 times better than other diapers!
