Newborn open stitched cloche and wave blanket

I've been getting back into crocheting. I've taken a couple orders but for the most part I'm going to try and make stock items because last time I had a lot of custom orders, which was awesome but I got very overwhelmed and burnt out!

I posted a picture of the beginnings of a blanket and sweet cloche hat and got some requests for the patterns so I thought I'd post it here!

This adorable blanket is pretty easy and is coming along quickly! There is one new stitch I'd never heard of CL but they break it down.  If anyone needs any help, let me know and I'll put up pictures of how to do it. The pattern is found here.

I combined 2 patterns to make this hat and did my own thing with the bow.

I think I'm going to put an alligator clip on the bow because I just don't want to permanently attach it!

The beginning of the hat pattern is found here. This blog has a lot of great free patterns.

Follow the pattern exactly until you complete round 9.  Instead of completing the hat with single crochets I wanted a scallop edge.

Round 10 slip stitch into the next stitch behind or ahead, it doesn't matter.
*SC in next stitch
6 DC in same stitich
skip next 3 stitches
SC in 4th stitch
6 DC in same stitch*  rep from* to * around
slip stitch is starting stitch and finish off.

Bow Pattern
chain 15
DC in 4th chain from hook (3 chains count as DC)
DC across,
chain 3, turn,
DC across,
chain 3, turn,
DC across, if using grey or an "outline" color, finish off.  If making bow only one color slip stitch around the outside of the bow to make it look more uniformed.
For color outline
slip stitch into any stitch with alternate color. slip stitch around. finish off.

cinch bow in the middle and pull a short piece of yarn through to keep it bent how you'd like it.  Tie in back.  Wrap a good amount of yarn around the bow in the middle.

Hopefully these bits of pattern are understandable! These project were both quick(ok the blanket is quick...for a blanket!) and fun to do!

Email or message me on facebook if you have questions!
